Welcome
Welcome to Winters Well Elementary School

Home of “Stinger Pride!”

Winters’ Well Elementary School is part of the Saddle Mountain Unified School District. We opened our school in 2007, and it has been Performing or Performing Plus each year. According to the state Department of Arizona, the school has made adequate yearly progress, AYP, each year.

In 2010-2011, Winters’ Well will have approximately 370 students in grades kindergarten through third. The school will also house a Head Start program, a Preschool program, and two self-contained special education programs.

We are very fortunate to have a very active and involved PTO. We encourage all parents and community members to take advantage of the Arizona tax credit by contributing any amount they may wish to our school. Forms for tax credit donations are available in the school office.

We provide transportation for all students that live in our attendance area. You can find the rules of bus riding and your child's bus route on our district's Transportation page. Bus schedules are available in the school office starting July 12.

In addition, we also provide breakfast and lunch each school day. Students may not charge more than one meal. Check out our meal prices and menus on our district's Food Services page.

You can find our general contact information on our Contact Us page. And for phone and e-mail information for our administration and school nurse, please visit our Staff page.

A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope that all of you have had a great summer break and are ready for an exciting school year. Once again, I am proud to say that Winters’ Well made AYP, adequate yearly progress, as judged by the State of Arizona Department of Education. This excellent distinction is due to a strong teaching staff and involved parents. Thank you for your continued support of our school.

This year we begin our journey to develop a strong educational program for the Kindergarten through Third grade learner. The first four years of a child’s education are very important in developing a strong foundation for the future. It is our endeavor to provide all that we can, in order to challenge, and stimulate each student.

We want your child to be happy and successful at Winters’ Well and believe that you play a key role. That role is to show continual show interest in what your child is doing in school. The child who knows that their family is interested in what they are doing in school and supports the school program will almost always enjoy greater success in school. It is a parent's enthusiasm, which inspires children to do their best. It is a parent's involvement, which is one of the biggest indicators of a child's success. In addition, it is a parent's nurturing and guidance, which allows children to develop a true love of learning.

The first day of school is August 2.

Our “Back to School Night” is on July 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the evening.

Sincerely,

Jim Keith, Principal
